CSC scheme to provide front-end delivery points for Government, private and social sector services STATE DATA CENTRE STATE WIDE AREA NETWORK (SWAN) 3 INFRASTRUCTURE PILLARS OF NATIONAL EGOVERNANCE PLAN COMMON SERVICE CENTRES (CSC) Common Service Centers (CSC) ► Govt of India under NeGP (National eGovernance Plan program proposed to setup 1 lakhs Common Services Centers (CSC) in rural parts across the country in PPP mode ► NeGP envisions “web-enabled Anytime, Anywhere access” to information & services in rural India, through 3 infrastructure pillars

  5. 4. CSC Scheme & Current Status of CSCs Transaction Volume ► For the month of January 2015, CSCs Pan India amount to Approx 400 lacs transactions ► Special Purpose Vehicle incorporated for CSC Scheme on 16th July 2009 ► Target of 1 CSC for every 6 villages (100,000+ CSCs) ► New Scheme Propose to cover 1CSC in every Panchayat ► Estimated Services Portfolio: 1/3 G2C & 2/3 B2C ► G2C services expected to be ramped up over 4 years As on 30 th January 2014 CSCs Operational Over 1.40 Lacs across India
  6. 5. CSCs ► Delivering government services in urban/rural areas by establishing closer links between Government & Citizens BENEFITS TO CITIZENS BENEFITS TO Government / Centres ► Greater exposure to other products & services offered through the centre. E.g. greater awareness of students about the courses offered through the centres ► Increase administrative efficiency and provide cost-effective access to Government Services Benefits of Common Service Centers ► Timely delivery of critical information & services through structured system to manage issues of health, Education etc… ► Create new/ additional revenue stream for the centre. As the services are rolled out on commission per transaction basis ► Delivering essential government services such as PAN Card, Election ID, UID etc.

  8. 7. Common Service Center - Infrastructure ► 100 – 150 sq. ft space ► Minimum 1 PC with UPS ► Minimum 1 Printer ► Digital / Web Camera ► Genset / Inverter/ Solar ► OS and other application software ► Broadband Connectivity ► Trained and incentivized manpower CSC KIOSK ► enabled with PC(s), printer(s), scanner(s), UPS, digital/web camera & broadband connectivity. ► Additional equipment in the form of projection systems, biometric devices, etc., may be included, as and when required.
